Minimize Stress During a Holiday Move

Rick Supplee - Thursday, December 13, 2018

December is undoubtedly a busy month of the year. Can you imagine adding a move to your to-do list? Let us provide some tips for your clients if they’re planning a move during the holidays.

1) Get Organized
Organization is everything in a packed month of holiday fun combined with a move.

  • Remember to pack your holiday decorations separately, in case you’re retrieving them quickly once you arrive
  • Declutter and donate before the end of the year
  • Ask friends and family for help

2) Just Say No
Instead of hosting the holiday event, let someone else take a turn and you can be the guest.

3) Keep A Budget
Money can always be a stressful issue especially when you combine moving and the holidays. Keep a close eye on your spending so you don’t have a budget hangover in 2019.

4) Stay Calm
It’s much easier said than done, but remember to breathe deeply whenever you have a free moment and focus on your family and their emotional needs. If you are stressed, everyone else will be as well. Take it one day at a time.

There’s a familiar song that plays during the holidays that we all know: “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” While it can be wonderful, it can be hectic too, especially when combined with a move. We hope the holiday brings you a sense of peace and calm, please call us if we can help.

Sincerely,
